1st XI start 2013 with a win

The first league match of the 2013 season saw KCC travel to Bannockburn to play last years league winners St Modan’s. The weather on the previous two days had been fairly awful and credit is due to the ground staff at Bluebell Wood for getting a playable surface.

After a close, hard fought match, resulted a good win for Kinross-shire but attention needed on the fielding/catching front. Next league game, Forthill on Sunday 19th.

Preparing to welcome the Scotland Wildcats

John and Ant have preparations are well under way for the first fixtures of the season which includes a game against the Scotland Wildcats team on Sunday 28th April.

The game is against a Ladies Captain's Select XI and starts at 12pm. If you in the area of Loch Leven's Larder, it will be a great chance to see some of Scotland's best women cricketers.

Also on the Saturday before, 27th, a Captain's Select XI will be playing against the U18s to help them prepare for their Scottish Cup games.

Hopefully the weather will be kind to us for both games!!!

Final Preparations for Monday 15th

We are really looking forward to welcoming our new and returning Junior players to our new ground up at Loch Leven's Larder on Monday 15th April at 6.15pm.

We are also pleased to say that the final steps to prepare the new ground have taken place with the temporary pavilion being lifted into place.

A big thanks go to Rob Niven for his help during the move and to John Ross and Ant Drew for fitting it out and painting it.

New Logo Competition

At our recent AGM, we made the decision to change the club name from Kinross Cricket Club to Kinross-shire Cricket Club to better reflect our location in the community as we prepare to move to our new ground at Loch Leven’s Larder and also to reflect our strong links with all of the Kinross-shire schools (primary and secondary).

With this new name, we want a new logo and this is where you can get involved by designing it!

The competition is open to all ages (children and adults) and the winning design will be used on our club clothing, website, social media, documents, press releases and much more.

So get drawing, either electronically or on paper and send your entry along with your name, age and postal address via email to secretary@kinrosscc.co.uk or by post to Kinross CC Logo Competition, c/o 15 Springfield Park, Kinross, KY13 8QS.

Club Clothing

The club also holds a small stock of kit should members require clothing at short notice.

100 Club

The aim of the 100 club is to raise much needed funds for the Cricket Club.

It is hoped that the club will have at least 100 members, but it will be possible to have more than 1 membership.

Each membership will cost £4.00 per month, paid by Standing Order (see enclosed form) or a lump sum of £48 paid annually. 50% of this income will benefit the club and 50% will paid out in prizes, through a monthly draw and a larger Christmas prize.

Debbie Weir from the fundraising committee has agreed to manage this scheme along with club treasurer, Alan Harper.

Should you have any queries regarding the 100 club, please contact Debbie on 01259 743 417.
