Kwik Cricket at Doo'cot - Report from Cliff Culley

We entered one team of Kelly and Lewis, Abigail, Eleanor, Sally, Tom, Callum and Daniel. They all turned up on time and had a positive and enthusiastic attitude throughout.

They improved every game and seemed to enjoy the day despite the weather. Everybody contributed with great catches, wickets and some nice strokes.

We came second in all three games with middle game against Meigle being closest.

Overall, signs of promise and a credit to club.

Fundraising Event Sat 26th May

Dear Parents/Carers and Members aged 10 or over,

We NEED your help to raise funds for the cricket club and Wendy Conway who many of you will know from Kwik Cricket has arranged a bag packing event in Sainsbury's, Kinross for the above date. We will start at 10.00 and need children age 10 or over to book a slot with Wendy to help pack peoples bags in the hope they will then pay you for your help - which of course they will because you will be doing such a great job !

We also need adult help with supervision and so if even some parents could stay that would be fantastic. I have only done this once before for another club and I remember we made quite a lot of money so please consider giving up a little of your time to help your club.

All those interested can you please book a slot via wensconway@hotmail.com

I look forward to seeing you at the Sainsbury's check out area later in May.

Many Thanks
Allison Gosse on behalf of Fundraising Committee.

U15s and U13s Win in Scottish Cup

Congratulations to both the U15s, beating Arbroath, and U13s, beating Doo'cot, for their fantastic victories in the Scottish Cup.

The U13s batted first in their match and were kept to 57 all out by a good Doo'cot fielding performance. Defending this total was always going to be a challenge but the team did it, bowling them all out for 45.

In the U15s match, Arbroath batted first and set Kinross a target of 50. The Kinross batting line-up continued the good work of the fielders by reaching their target of 51 with the loss of just 3 wickets.

Their next round may see a reversal of opponents with the U13s facing Arbroath and the U15s playing either Doc'cot or Forfarshire.

Good luck to all teams involved in the competition and once again well done to our juniors.

Glenalmond 6s Win

Kinross U13's took part in the Glenalmond 6's today playing Ardvreck, Cargilfield and lastly Belhaven Hill in the final. All the boys played magnificently to win all three matches and lift the silverware at the end of the day.

Congratulations to the team for a fantastic win which will hopefully fill the players with confidence for the season ahead.

Fundraising Easter Quiz

Thanks to everybody who bought, sold and even completed the Easter Quiz. We made £330 for the club.

Out of those sold we had around 10 returned entries and a tie for 1st place with 3 people on 97 out of 99.

The winning entry eventually being decided at about 1.31pm on the Saturday - the time of latest guess for 1st goal. The winner was Isobel Ibbotson from Kinross who wins a weekend at a luxury holiday flat in Edinburgh.

So well done everybody who took part and grateful thanks to Cliff Culley who set us a very challenging set of questions.

Junior Coaching

Due to the continued building work going on at Kinross House this summer, the committee has decided that it would be safer and more convenient for members if junior training was once again held at Loch Leven Community Campus grass pitches.

Junior training starts on Monday 16th April from 6.15pm – 8pm. Players should wear warm clothing early on the season and bring a drink to every session. Junior convenors, Tim and Allison Gosse will be situated at the entrance to the grass pitches. Players should enter the campus via reception and go out the doors at the top of the corridor where the cafe seating is.

New members are very welcome to attend and should email secretary@kinrosscc.co.uk for further information.

Club Clothing

The new clothing range is available to purchase from our online club shop at Surridge. The club also holds a small stock of kit should members require clothing at short notice.

100 Club

The aim of the 100 club is to raise much needed funds for the Cricket Club.

It is hoped that the club will have at least 100 members, but it will be possible to have more than 1 membership.

Each membership will cost £4.00 per month, paid by Standing Order (see enclosed form) or a lump sum of £48 paid annually. 50% of this income will benefit the club and 50% will paid out in prizes, through a monthly draw and a larger Christmas prize.

Debbie Weir from the fundraising committee has agreed to manage this scheme along with club treasurer, Alan Harper.

Should you have any queries regarding the 100 club, please contact Debbie on 01259 743 417.
